The Karnataka State Chess Association (KSCA) is delighted to share that Bengaluru’s young chess sensation Nakshatra Gumadavalli, winner of three Gold Medals at the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2026, paid courtesy visits to Karnataka’s senior leaders following her outstanding international success.

Nakshatra, accompanied by KSCA President T. N. Madhukar, met Dr. G. Parameshwara, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Karnataka, at the SSIT Guest House on Wednesday.

Congratulating the nine-year-old chess prodigy on her exceptional achievement, Dr. G. Parameshwara assured that the Government of Karnataka would extend all necessary support to enable her participation in international chess tournaments and continue nurturing her remarkable talent.

The meeting was also attended by BMTC Vice Chairman Niketh Raj Maurya, Tumakuru University Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Venkateshwarlu, Deputy Commissioner Shubha Kalyan, CEO B. V. Ashwija, and other distinguished dignitaries.

Later, Nakshatra also met Dr. T. B. Jayachandra, Special Representative of the Government of Karnataka in Delhi, at the Government Guest House in Tumakuru. During the interaction, Dr. Jayachandra congratulated the young champion and appreciated her outstanding accomplishments, wishing her continued success on the international stage.

KSCA expresses its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Sports Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara and Dr. T. B. Jayachandra for recognising and encouraging Karnataka’s young sporting talent. Such encouragement from the State leadership serves as a tremendous inspiration for aspiring chess players across Karnataka.
