
The Karnataka State Under-19 Open & Girls FIDE Rated Chess Championship 2026 was successfully conducted from 19th to 21st June 2026 at SRN Mehta School, Kalaburagi, under the aegis of Karnataka State Chess Association (KSCA) and organized by the Gulbarga District Chess Association.
A total of 176 players from across Karnataka participated, including 103 players in the Open category and 73 players in the Girls category, showcasing exceptional talent and competitive spirit over nine rounds of Swiss League competition.

π― The top four players from both categories have qualified to represent Karnataka at the forthcoming National Under-19 Chess Championship in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The championship was inaugurated by Mrs. Preeti Mehta, Principal of SRN Mehta School, in the presence of D. V. Prasad, Karnataka’s first International Master, Mr. Pranesh Yadav (Chief Arbiter) and Mr. Promodraj Moree (President, Gulbarga District Chess Association).
