Pratitee Bordoloi of Shishya BEML Public School, Bengaluru, delivered a stellar and consistent performance at the recently concluded 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand (20-30 Nov). Competing in the Under 12 Girls category, Pratitee won a Silver medal in all three formats: Classical, Rapid, and Blitz. Her individual success—scoring 7.5/9 in Classical, 5.5/7 in Rapid, and 7/9 in Blitz—was crucial, as she was one of only two Indian players to medal across all three formats, which included participation from over 20 Asian Chess federations. Furthermore, her strong showing helped India secure the team Silver across all three formats as well.
Joining her success, Aadya Gowda, a student of Cambridge International School, missed out on medals in the Classical and Rapid formats but recovered strongly to clinch Bronze for India in the Blitz format within the same Under 12 Girls category. Aadya notably finished fifth in the Classical format after being seeded 31st. This duo from Karnataka had previously brought laurels to the state in June by winning Gold and Silver in the Under 12 Girls FIDE World Cup in Batumi, Georgia.
