In a proud and historic moment for Indian chess, WIM Isha Sharma has officially become Karnataka’s first Woman Grandmaster (WGM)!
On November 14, 2025, at the IM Circuit Tournament in Subotica, Serbia, Isha clinched her final WGM norm, completing all requirements for the coveted title. The achievement will soon be formally ratified by FIDE in its upcoming council meeting.
