Pratitee Wins Gold & Aadya bags Silver at FIDE World Cup 2025 at Batumi, Georgia (23rd Jun-2nd Jul).

Pratitee Bordoloi, a student of Shishya BEML Public School, and Aadya Gowda, a student at Cambridge International School, brought laurels to Karnataka by becoming the champion and runner-up respectively at the recently concluded Under 12 Girls FIDE World Cup Chess tournament in Batumi, Georgia. Both Pratitee and Aadya remained at the top of the leaderboard in their respective group matches. Pratitee remained unbeaten at the group stage, scoring 6.5/7 in Group B, while Aadya managed to finish at the top of her group, scoring 6/7 in Group A. Facing each other for the ultimate crown, Pratitee outshined Aadya, defeating her in both classical matches to become the ultimate winner, clinching gold. It is worth mentioning that Pratitee was the runner-up in the FIDE World Cup 2024. Both players were shortlisted for the esteemed tournament as they were the first and second runners-up during the 37th National Under 11 Girls Chess Championship held in Hyderabad last year. Apart from a trophy and certificate, Pratitee will be awarded a MacBook, while Aadya will receive an iPhone.
