Karnataka’s young chess talent WCM Aadya Gowda delivered an impressive performance at the 39th National Under-13 Girls Chess Championship held in Puducherry, securing the Silver Medal after an intense 11-round battle.
Entering the championship as the top seed, Aadya displayed determination and fighting spirit throughout the event, finishing runner-up with an excellent score of 9/11 points.

Aadya began her campaign in commanding fashion, winning her opening four games in a row. Her tactical precision and strong preparation helped her maintain her position among the leading contenders.
The middle and later stages of the championship brought tougher challenges, including encounters against Arpita Patankar of Gujarat and Aaradhya Das of Tripura. Despite the setbacks, Aadya showed remarkable resilience and bounced back strongly.
In the crucial 11th and final round, Aadya faced Pavithra R V of Tamil Nadu in a must-win encounter. She converted her advantage to secure the victory and finish the championship in second place, earning a well-deserved silver medal.
