Turuvekere Sports Club is organizing THIRD STATE LEVEL RAPID CHESS TOURNMENT from October 11th & 12th. Turuvekere is well known as KALPATHARUNADU, Town of Temples. Lot of ancient temples like Sri Beterayaswamy temple, Sri Channigarayaswamy temple, the famous Bull temple Sri Gangadhareshwara temple & Sri Shankareshwara temple are situated in Turuvekere town. Famous Badarikashrama (Sri Swamy Vivekananda statue) is just 6km away from Turuvekere town. Another picnic spot Mallaghatta tank is just 6km away from Turuvekere. Plenty of Bus facility are available from Bangalore (120km) and Tiptur (26km) and K.B. Cross (18km), Mysore (115km). Nearest Railway station Banasandra 8 km, Tiptur 26 km.
